The humans behind Norspirit.
We are Alison and Andy Whittle and Norspirit is our Prefix (breeder name) assigned to us by the GCCF (the leading UK registration body for cats). Breeding, showing and generally promoting the breed is one of our hobbies, but, best of all the Norwegians we have are part and parcel of our family.
Christmas on top of the world
Our cats are always
around and about
Cat showing has taken us all over the country and we now have many 'cat friends' in many 'necks of the woods'. We also know breeders and cat fanciers from all over the world and enjoy travelling to distant shows or to see friends in our motor home, with of course one or two (maybe 3,4 or 5) of our tribe.
Alison is one of the representatives of the Norwegian Forest Cat Club to the GCCF Council and we both sit on the BAC (Breed Advisory Committee) for the Norwegian Forest Cat.
Whilst the cats keep us busy, we still find time to do the odd non-cat related thing or two as well as running our own fairly successful hi-tech engineering
company, Peak NDT, designing and manufacturing instrumentation for use in the NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) world.
In 2011 we won a Queen's Award for enterprise (Innovation), an achievement that we are both (Andy especially) very proud of.
We are keen mountain cyclists and walkers, loving to get out in the 'fresh air' of the Peak District, the Lake District or the North Yorkshire Moors. Quite often, when not showing we will disappear off in the 'van for a week or weekend with a skoggie or two, their leads, of course, and our bikes.
